Over & Out

My way out is cold small dark hole. I looked down into my exit today. It was pitch black, I felt no fear. Rather, it was inviting. Quiet and peaceful. Rest. Going in to get out. Going out to get in. My way out is a dark black hole. Calm and free of bussle… my heart need not be in one piece to take this route. I was told the ferryman would take both pieces of what’s left … it needn’t tick ,pump, beat, or bleed. Cold small box is freedom indeed… fertilizer…maggot feed…good for earth good for something at least grow weeds…1  undeniable deed… 1 seed planted indeed. Or take me to flames to hell with a box…always been hot…won’t matter soon … give the dust to Musk place it on the moon…All be over soon.

It's Time

Wrap Up 2022

Here comes 2023.

Here I stand with a complete and whole heart?

How can that be?

2022 Certainly tried it's best to undo me.

I came in with my heart broken in Half.

Cut ties with some decade old Friends
Cut ties with some lifelong Kin...

A farewell to a Fiancé months before nuptials.

I haven't included any trials and test but add them too and long before June.... My heart should've been in many more pieces than 2.

But what have we got here???

I feel renewed
I am at Peace
I am Serene

Happiness suits me despite trials...

I wear a smile despite my test & YES I know the best is yet to come.
Joy is a constant even when things go wrong,

&

I realized I needed all of this to make me stronger.

Strength, I have but not alone. I couldn't have done any of this on my own.

Thank God,

 without His guidance...

I would have been just where the enemy wanted me... broken in 2022.

Here comes 2023.
Here I stand with a complete and whole heart.

Fully Armored
&
Ready for the next chapter to start.

I can't even fathom...

For a moment...Take away a #uniform and #badge ... Even take away skin #color .  (In no way denying the large #racist elephant in the room but stay with me please... I do have a point.)

#Imagine being gunned down #walking #away from a bad situation; Imagine retreating, and returning to your car with your children in it to drive off, and just because you didn't listen to the person wanting to engage with you, they shoot you 7-8 times at point blank range.

Can you imagine #Hot searing bullets enter your #fleshly #temple with the intent of the aggressor to kill you? Just Imagine you... #or intent to kill your brother...or intent to kill your sister...or intranet your kill mother...or intent kill your father?

We even #teach as a society, ourselves and our children,  when someone is #toxic walk away ... WHAT HAPPENED HERE? The Bible even says before a quarrel "take your leave."

Those in authority, set the tone and example. Is this really ok with someone on my timeline or in my life? Can anyone even try to remotely #defend or justify this?? Can you even imagine?

I can't even fathom.

Walking away does not Justify attempted homicide with or without a badge.

Only #GodsKingdom will heal this world.

The Iron Necklace

I'd come to this place of the past a visitor. Happy to have traveled back, honored by the experience. Not knowing the taste would leave me full. At the start a man of fame caught my eye. When passing I requested his autograph. He sensed I was from a different time.. that my dignity was in tact. He winced at my request... grimaced at my skin...wrote his name on the thin piece of paper; I smiled. Seeing my smile the man of fame tore the paper in two threw it to the ground spit on it and said: "I don't care about you."
I opened my mouth and sharply told him that he meant nothing to me. I wanted to tell him that his hate was foolish, unfounded and ignorant but before my tongue lashed my tour guide grabbed my arm pulling me away; begging my pardon. As quickly as it happened was as quickly as I forgot it. But the past would not. "We must leave this town quickly" my guide says "get you someplace safe."

At the local market beside the building there were trucks all the drivers leaving soon. I boarded a truck with a man named Irie, who never spoke to me, only my guide asking: "Where are you headed?" "To the gym" my guide announced. The road offered no scenery. Just streets surrounded by blank white space as an empty page.
I entered the gym firstly teeming with life a ball game in progress. Food offered at the door I accepted my delicious tomato and cheese sandwiches wrapped in wax paper with picnic patterns. Holding my sandwich I was asked to play the game as 1 team was short a person. I didn't have time  to officially accept as the ball was passed to me at the same time the question was posed. I caught the ball that smashed my sandwich but carefree I shot my jumper. As I came down from the air I brought down all the smiles in the room or so I thought. Smiling social faces were now silent, broken spirits with eyes full of fear. Every single body moved from the court  Every head bowed down eyes to the ground.  I sensed danger not looking around to lay eyes on it, I sought cover behind a tall curtain of a window in the gym. Through the curtain I could see two figures walking toward me. One with brown skin and poor mans clothing holding what looked like a medieval style helmet but there was nothing where the head should be. Just a neck piece of iron with a crank on the outside. The other a man white of skin in regal bright purple gold and blue cloth and the shoes of a Jester. Wearing a face that showed repugnance for all his eyes could see. His name was known as Justice.  I took a bite of my smashed sandwich and watched as Justice motioned for his hound man to pull back the curtain. As the curtain pulled back the smile of the brown hound man widened...a face like that of a shark. Teeth small and sharp... eyes that darkened and widened ... a shark who had just smelled blood. Frozen paralyzed with fear... simultaneously curious: "What do you want with me?!" The whole room gasp at my outspoken spirit. Justice didn't flinch. The brown man began to pant like a dog excited. "3 minutes." the Justice said while holding up 3 fingers. The brown hound man took the neck piece and placed it over my head and around my neck it went. Neck stiff I looked for my guide, with only my eyes, who was now gone. The brown hound man cranked the handle slowly and the length of the neck piece elongated stretching my neck. My chin from my shoulders further and further. Until it became almost impossible to speak. My tongue lodged between my teeth. Forced biting down I could taste my own blood. Jaws forced closed I moaned loudly in pain. Justice motioned to the brown man to stop cranking. "Do you have something to say?" Asked Justice. I couldn't speak ... I couldn't nod my head. I tapped the Iron Necklace. Justice standing with crossed legs and hands behind his back, a stoic countenance, lifted 1 hand to motion to unwind the crank just a little so I may speak.
"You've got the wrong person... I'm a visitor to this time. I committed no crimes."
"Did you not offend a man of fame today near the market?"... looking down at his watch he declared: "2 minutes" with 2 fingers in the air and motioned for his hound man to crank the necklace to induce pain. I felt as if this time he just continued to crank. I could feel my head separating from off my body. The pain was unbearable I lost consciousness.

I woke in a line. In clothes that weren't mine. Being yelled at to rise and enter the coop. Slave quarters. When I entered my consciousness separated from my body. I was now watching as they took her into her small room covered in feathers and hay with barbed chicken wire as the only walls and doors. She who was once I found a full plate of delicious food placed on a ledge for consumption: Mashed potatoes, yams and a savory meat. She who was once I ate her fill as she spoke openly of the strength instilled in her by her mother. A green bottle of sweet wine she who was once I began to drink. The consciousness knew that wine was not to be drank to enjoy with dinner but to soothe the pain after whippings. She who was once I was clueless. The wine made she who was once I jovial enough to sing. The pain it would soon bring. In the hallway of the large coop a fat black mistress watched on hating every note. She removed her whip from her holder and cracked it. Vowing to break my spirit. She asked if she who was once I thought of myself as "Special?...I'll fix that." she declared! She marched off to prepare my whipping post. She who was once me was careless...careless and drunk. But 2 small men raised in the coop, that stunted their growth, emerged from around the corner of the coop hall speaking of the mistress one said: "The whipping isn't over until she's done." The other said: "And shes not done until she sleeps."

If You're Reading This...

If you're reading this...
Then you've made it to 2019!
Congratulations.
Many of those whom we love didn't have the privilege.
SIDENOTE: Is it me... or doesn't it seem that at the end of every year there's a rash of people who "check out" of the "Hotel California"?
But if you're reading this... then you've been blessed with more time.
So, what do you plan to do with the time you've been given?
Social media takes a seriously cynical approach to: Clearing negative energy, seeking to get closer to God, resolving to eat better, live better, exercise more or be more productive.
I know you see the sarcastic memes. Now I'm not promoting New Years Resolutions. I'm promoting positive resolutions at any time of the year.  I'm saying if you want to clear negativity do it. If you want to get closer to the creator then do it! And so on. You've been given more time to improve matters in your life. To mend fences, to make all sorts of progress. Don't listen to social media as it continues to engineer our thoughts and trivialize positive change. It could be that they don't want you to get productive and positive. That would mean less time scrolling, clicking and buying from them. You can do it! Whatever you have set your mind to: It is Beyond Possible. It is tangible! I say start with the time you've been given today and GO FOR IT! Whatever it is that is truly positive!

Peace & Blessings

The Wrapup 2018

Pardon my French but...." Quelle putain d'année?!"

Like a speeding bullet, it flew by didn't it? And true to the nature of a speeding bullet, to be honest, all I can remember is the painful moments. In my subconscious they far outweighed the prideful moments. However, I remain grateful because the cleansing that resulted from this is phenomenal. Not only the cleansing but the internal reckoning of power, purpose and passion, within myself is incomparable and priceless. I would go through all those trials again in a millisecond to be in the constant state of self awareness that I am blessed to carry into 2019.

The Uncovering

For some reason, in this year it was revealed to me the innate nature of all those I adored. I was surprised to find most of the people I placed a high value upon were well below undeserving.  It felt as if I was at a soiree, draped in my finest attire, smelling of frankincense, myrrh, and lavender. My face painted by the illustrious Sir Prater of Mac Cosmetics. My glass full to the brim with the sweetest of Sangria, my heart full of good intentions, my head inflated with positivity and pure intentions carrying me high above the headwinds and into the thickest of clouds. Then "Down goes Frazier!" I came crashing when it was realized everyone else in attendance with me was in a costume.  There were wolves dressed as sheep, clowns dressed as confidants, assassins clothed in a lovers garb , foes draped with the cloak of family. So never mind what I was wearing! I may as well had been buck naked. The taste of my Sangria soured and my deflated head sent me spiraling back to the earth just as I was halfway to heaven. I came to the realization that baring your soul genuinely is the opposite of freedom in the wrong hands. I was awakened to the fact that I had held in esteem the very hands of those who: reviled in my captivity, who coveted my security and sought to sully my sincerity and tarnish it with either their jaded view of life or jaded view of me.  But not all who launched assault were jaded some knew my nature to be true, and saw me as a target to aim their missles and went on offense. Perhaps a light in me shined too bright for their eyes. Who really knows? I've resigned to not try and figure these ones out. Enough energy has been wasted on them well outside"why and what for." Action was required.

The Separating Shield

Costumes forsaken, I had been attacked by the wolves and the assassins and berated by the clowns when I readjusted my crown and cleared the court. The late Maya Angelou wrote: "When someone shows you who they are, believe them." The clearing of negative interference left me a bit empty at first. After all these were not strays or people I just adopted and let in. These were family, dear friends and lovers. People that I felt loved me simply because of how much I loved them. Let me be the first and hopefully the last to tell you: That's not how any of this works! Although I believe it should, it just doesn't. It is not a given that because they are family they will do you right. It is not a given that because you are sincere that they will be. It's not a given that because you will give to them your last dime that they would ever give you a red cent. It is not a fact that because you bend backward they will be impressed enough to move a muscle. It is not a given that because they know better they will do better! Do not ever make those assumptions that would be a fatal mistake. I've never been a pessimistic person and these experiences haven't made me one. If I turned my tuner to a pessimistic channel that would mean they all succeeded in stealing my joy. They did not! What they did do though, is held up a large mirror facing me. In this mirror I was able to see clearly that I hadn't been guarding myself with a complete suit of armor. I was leaving my heart completely exposed. They showed me I had forgot to carry my shield.

 The Ship of Thanks

The intent of these attacks were to chisel away at my buoyant spirit; with the hopeful intent to sink my ship. Instead it carved in me a discerning heart free from naivete. It sculpted a healthy consciousness of self completely free from undue or unworthy self sacrificing. It fashioned a form of energy that will not abide the slighting and cannot tolerate insincerity.

In short those chisels have created a ship that is sailing into 2019. Yes, Kings and Queens this vessel is sailing into the New Year with no heavy (in every sense of the word) cargo.  And for that I'm grateful! My advice: Look at your vessel is there any cargo weighting you down? I know you may have loaded the cargo for the longhaul but it could be doing more damage on your voyage then it will ever do good once you reach your new fertile ground. Throw it overboard and let it sink to the floor of the sea! True to myself, I was able to find the silver lining and learn from pain. Now I can truly say looking forward with a new pair of glasses... my future looks very bright.

Sail On
Peace and Blessings

December 31 2017-Jan12018
A new years experience to remember.
I went to an NYE PARTY at a  Cambodian home. The joy, the fellowship, the smiles, the positive energy was incomparable and infectious. The crowd greeted my brother and I with cheers when we entered the room, followed by a swarm of drinks...Top shelf stuff Jameson, Remy Martin, Champgne but first..."medicine" at least that's what they called it... a root and herb mixture.. zesty tangy and looked much like a tea. They danced all night.. live music with singing included karaoke style and passing the michrophone. I sat and watch a man and a woman disagree push and shove and no one flinched... me I sat down and out the way thinking "Ohh no drunk NYE COUPLE FIGHT" then as quick as it began it dispelled. A passionate people indeed. They kept me dancing all night! Every time I took a seat somone else said...come on.... the men and the women! Everyone danced and sang into the 1st day of 2018 Celebrating life, celebrating reaching the marking of a new year others were not as fortunate to meet.
Then the dancing and singing stopped around 3... some had fallen asleep...others slept through the party and were now awake... they got out blankets and pillows and huddled together on the floors couches.. and talked for hours to each other... very welcoming and friendly people they
freely spoke to me as well. Engineers, day traders and small but thriving business owners. Each of them smiled while we engaged in conversation... not just because we were all drunk.. but it was clear they were actually happy. They knew a secret.. infact I walked in and the joy took over me... I was smiling... I hadn't even drank yet...A woman came to me and said... Why are you smiling... I answered because I'm happy and she invited me to dance... But even by the end of the night the sense of family, contentment, and joy prevailed. Net the final moment of my Cambodian Experience I spoke with someone who explained to me.. they were all family.. though marriage of through blood. They had come here years ago... Refugees from a cruel leader who had killed off the countries influential families including some of their parents and grandparents. The detachment from the traditional ways of their culture slowly increase however what they've created is a grand substitute for the real thing. They've made a choice to continue living and create a family, a community, and a legacy outside of the ones cast on them by life.

So what's the point?
The Point is... they had several excuses to fall apart as a group but they have thrived DESPITE the pain. SO THRIVE  DESPITE THE PAIN.

KILIMANJARO

Theres something that won't let me QUIT
No matter how tired  I GET
Its something INSIDE
not PRIDE
Pride hates VULNERABILITY
What ever it is
APPEALS TO ME
"You quit now and youll be SORRY"
And so I keep GOING
Taking a chance
Jumping in the ocean
UNKNOWING
Whats BENEATH
is it the bottom for ME...
Or is it the coral REEF.
BEAUTY I pray it IS
DUTY to stay it IS
Mine
Stay ALTHOUGH I KNOW
It could be the bottom of the ocean
Stay knowing it could be the top of KILIMANJARO
Stay because yesterday is gone
Today is here
But theres no promise of TOMMOROW
IF i die at least I lived and did a life of what i loved
Instead of 1 I BORROWED

The Shadow and The Entry

Theres a doorway you must walk through.. and you would except... you can't see what's right past the entry.. a little afraid to know you hesitate...procrastinate..and reject anyone who pushes you toward it. Everytime you move so does a darkness near the entry... What is this darkness? Why does it mirrior your moves?  You wonder will it consume you. Would you already be through the entry if it weren't for this darkness... Damn this darkness..curse it to the heavens...this darkness has declared war...and you have declared it your enemy...As you back away from the entry..the darkness grows.. now bigger than the entry itself.. you look around for help... you feel you can't beat this alone...when you turn you see a lamp brightly shining toward the entry of the door you must pass through.... the darkness is you.... you've cast a shadow over the entry and made it ominous...get out of your own way.

Today

I miss you today
& I wish I didn’t.
Nothing to miss,
because
we’ve been finished.
&
you have replenished,
your energy.
Free of me
to love again.
Quickly
you moved along.
How did you forget me?
I envy your savvy
or are you just faking?
Is it real amazing?
That new love
from that stranger?
It’s stranger,
to see you
with someone new
who I know
Don’t know you
quite like I do.
Just admit that
what we had is untouchable.
Nope
you’d rather
work your
muscles and flex
your new
prototype.
She’s cool
But she’s
not me
just
a
cheap carbon copy
A mockery
a giant love to a jockey.
Yes, I am still cocky.
You loved it
when I’d kiss
and sing to your body.
I miss that most.
Can’t find that in everybody.
If I had
just one last
time with you though
love I’m sure
I’d light all my candles
And let all my love adorn you.
Just hold you in my eyes,
Kiss all over your face.
Then place your hand
on my heart
so you can feel
It beats for you still…
My Darling…

Poor Babies

Painting by: Vitus Shell

What our children must think?

Scrubbing their little black cheeks and praying for pink.

Though they love their skin...

They somehow figured they've sinned...

Being fed to them
are images of
a lineage of
slavery.

And every attempt at positive change, was seen as bravery...

& a threat to the powers that be...

Poor poor babies...

To see the death of innocent men...

To fear those put in place to protect you because of the color of their skin.

Poor babies of all the innocent...

Poor baby to the ignorant...

The ones who don't see that end of the day we are all human...

Poor baby to the mothers in tears...

Poor baby to the Black men living in fear...

Poor baby to the universal earth. Because we groan in pain together...

Waiting for better weather...

And praying to stick together...

Heavier & Heavier the load by the day ..

& some of us stop even wanting to pray because we havent seen change...but don't do that.  It's the only way.

& even though the sky is blue & the trees green, we see in grey.

Seated in gloom....facing  imminent doom...

Prominent on the horizon coming soon...

Poor black babies
Poor white babies
Poor babies
We all are children.
POOR WORLD.

23 years later

I was about 8 when my life was changed. It was a weekend day and on this day I was particularly happy, because my mother had decided to try to get my father’s attention. They had been separated since daddy came home from out to sea and mom found out that once again my father had cheated. But my mother loved my father very much and it was clear. This day she pulled out all the stops. She curled her hair in the fashion of the time, Claire Huxtable or Oprah, put on her tight black jeans, sexy ankle boots and her black leather jacket with silver trimmings. She beat her face like only my mother can do and adorned her nose with a dainty nose ring. She came that day for my father’s wandering eyes. So much packed in this day for me. It was the first time I’d ever seen my mother and father in the same room enjoying each other’s company it was sadly the last. I had hope that day, childish hope. I thought: “Maybe today mommy and daddy will get back together! Oh how marvelous this day will be.” Well maybe I didn’t think the word marvelous at 8 but I was indeed excited! The day was going so well. We went to my paternal grand-parents’ house where most of the kicking it would go down with all my mom and dad’s friends from high school and family members. My parents had been together since the ages of 13 and 14 and where now in their mid-20’s with 2 children. There laid a rich history of what I call day one-ism with the family and friends. On this occasion my Fathers half-brother (my uncle) Greg was in town. At one point in my life Greg was one of my favorite uncles. The out of town uncle that came in town for family functions, so it always seemed like we were having a good time when he was in town. The one who gives you money to buy super-soakers and candy. I was always happy to see Greg.

On this day, I stayed with my grandfather while my parents went out with their cousins and friends. My grandmother was at work, my grandfather and Greg were home. I don’t remember where my big brother was but he wasn’t around this day. I remember being in the kitchen with my grandfather and him kneeling down one knee and saying to me: “Nee-nee (family nick-name) I want you to stay away from your uncle Greg today.” The 8-year-old girl in me was puzzled. “Why Pop-pop I love Uncle Greg?”  His response was: “I know you love your Uncle, just listen to your pop-pop ok? Your uncle has had too much to drink.” Even at the age of 8, it was comical coming from my Grandad who was notorious for having his drink in the same spot at the same time daily. Oblivious to the gravity of the situation, that warning fell lightly on my young naïve ears. So I thought nothing of it, throughout the day, when my uncle patted me on the butt. Thought nothing of it, till after, when my uncle held me too long during a hug and asked for a kiss on the lips. No big deal to me he was my Uncle, I trusted my life with him as did my parents. I’d given him a kiss before, I’d sat on his lap, I’d danced on his feet, jumped on his back, laughed at his silly jokes. All in innocence.

When my parents and the rest of the group returned for the night I was so happy to see them. Mom and daddy were sitting together on a couch laughing, talking to family and friends. Music in the air, they were having adult conversations. But me I just wanted to be there soak it all in. What they laughing about? Who’s going to say something funny next? Will my mommy and daddy kiss?

But Daddy never played that. When he noticed me in the room  he says to me : “Nee-nee ain’t no kids out here go in the room and watch tv." In the room I went. I pulled out the knob on the tv to power it on.. I was kind of bummed when I was told to go in the room. All the fun was in the other room and now it was just me and the tv. I sat on the edge of the king size bed, engrossed in the tv, when Greg walked in the room. In his hand was a large photo album. He sat down next to me on the bed: “Want to look at some pictures?” he asked me. “Yes” I replied. So he opens up the photo album and shows me pictures of my aunt (his ex-wife) and their children, pictures of my other cousins, aunts and uncles. Then he says : “Come sit on your uncles lap”.  So I hopped off the bed to face him to climb in his lap but he grabbed my arm while I was facing him as to stop me in my tracks. My young innocent mind puzzled by his contradictory actions. He undid my zipper, put his hands inside my panties stroked my underdeveloped and sleeping woman-hood with one of his fingers. Then removed his hand.  I was stunned, and truthfully wasn’t quite sure what just happened I just know it felt….

“Did that feel good?” he asked. Well, to my body it did and my answer was “Yes”. But to my mind something was wrong. I hadn’t had a talk about strangers touching my privates, most likely cause I was NEVER AROUND STRANGERS. However, my mother always told me, and still tells, me I can talk to her about anything. So this was definitely something to talk about! But how? I didn’t know, so I first tried to remove myself from Greg. I grabbed the photo album and went back to the living room where the rest of my family was. However, I wasn’t out there long before my father unwittingly barked at me as if I was in trouble: “Didn’t I tell you to go in the room” Ohhh SHIT!! What to do now? I remember walking back to the room, full of fear, because I knew Greg was still in there. I got to the room and my fears were realized. There he was with a look that I can only describe as perverted lust. This was the Greg I had known all my 8 years and trusted???  No? Right?  He stood up and beckoned me to come near him plagued with fear and confusion I couldn’t move so, he walked over to me. He reached for my zipper again and said: “Feels good right?” I looked in his eyes and said : “NO.”

That look oh his face changed from perverted lust to sinister to, after my answer, fear. I threw down the photo album and ran to the living room. The room was full of laughter and high spirits.  My parents were laughing heartily when I entered the room. My mother’s smile came to a complete halt. I could see that she could see in my eyes something was wrong. “Daddy” I said “ your brother is dead drunk!” My father responded jokingly “I know” and the rest of the room burst into laughter EXCEPT my mother. Clearly shaken, my mother grabs my father’s arm while still staring at me and says “No, No listen to her Kelvin something is wrong.” The room went silent. The longest 3 seconds of my life. I’m about to kill one of the happiest moments I’ve had to date my entire life. (that is up until the molestation) But I had to. So I did, however, at 8 I wasn’t sure how much of this was my fault. Just think grown women who are victims of sex crimes often struggle with feelings of guilt. My thought process as a child was I was guilty, for allowing him to get that close, I felt stupid and also felt part and party because I didn’t stop him. So I lied, I said: “He tried to touch me”.  Well that was enough though for both my parents.

My father is the guy you go have a good time with. Not the guy you call when it’s time to kick some ass. You wouldn’t have known it that day! The words hadn’t hit the aire good yet before my father was out his seat and headed to the backroom where Greg was. “She lying!!-“ were the last words I’ve ever heard Greg say. My father did not come in that room to have a dialogue with him and that was clear. Punch after punch after punch after punch after punch I could hear.  Greg was getting his ASS WHOOPED!

My mother lost it immediately. Her eyes bugged in hysteria, frantically surveying the room. Her hands raised level with her head shaking in fury. She began counting backwards from 10 slowly, I believe in effort to calm herself. But by the number 7 I was nervous that at the number 1 she would literally explode. I’d never seen a countdown like this! My father had reached my uncle by  the number 5. So my senses were almost on TILT. My dad beating my uncle, my mom losing it, my family and friends rushing to the back to get my dad off of Greg. My mother reached the number 1 finally and, just as i thought, exploded. She let out a blood curdling scream and reached for the nearest blunt object, which was a wooden cane in the umbrella holder by the door. I ran outside to the hallway and crouched down with my hands  covering my ears ,crying, feeling somehow responsible for the chaos.  About 5 seconds passed when I see Greg, running for his life, out the house, the front of his white t-shirt covered in blood and still on the receiving end of the wooden cane my mother was wielding.

That was the last time I saw him. It was an out of sight out of mind deal. I suppressed those emotions, repressed those memories and told myself I was over it and I forgave him. But I haven’t, still I carry anger with him. In fact I told my grandmother today. If he had punched me in the face I could’ve gotten over it faster than what happened. Cause that created a ripple effect in my life. In fact, a cripple effect. I feigned indifference, for years, I even fooled myself at times. But I really am, still to this day, as I type this, angry. What was taken away from that little girl can never be given back no matter the effort. I avoided becoming a woman in all her glory because of the pain introduced by Greg. I wasn’t allowed to be a little girl, and afraid to become a woman. So where did that leave me? All over the place.

I’m an advocate of forgiveness, I want to be forgiven. I had this notion if I forgive him then that made me weak. But the true weakness is letting the mistake of others in the past dictate your future. While I still have no desire to be involved with him in any capacity. I really want the mental roadblock that he has created to be destroyed forever. How do I let go? I don’t know But this is me saying I’m ready and willing.

Friends or Nah

I watched this video today you may have seen, it recently went viral. I laughed 😂 so hard. In the video a teen is harrasing an older man whose homeless.  The teens "friends" egg on the teenager while filming to keep up the harrassment.

Lets just say this kid got what was coming to him... I didn't laugh because a teen was being disrespectful to a 1.Elder 2. Someone less fortunate.
I didnt laugh cause he was he got what was coming to him... Well i did laugh at that part too but that wasn't what got me... The most comedic part to me was the comments and reactions of this teens so called "friends".

Sadly this teen was spineless and  a follower...not really the "friends" who were videoing/instigating.

I laughed hard till it wasn't funny. But I wondered why / or how he could trust people who CLEARLY steer him in the wrong direction for their own entertainment.

Some of my friends are probably thinking "hold the phone we know you've done some F$%KED UP Stuff to your friends for a laugh."  True but never with malicious intent or anything dangerous or radical. Or some of you may say " I know you've hurt someone..." My answer to that is your right.  I don't claim to be perfect. Like any human I've done things I'm not proud of but... in my heart if your my friend... Ill travel the 7 seas for our friendship & I'll never put you in harms way.

I actually found myself feeling sorry for this kid cause he's blind to the fact that the people he considers "friends" couldn't care less about his welfare.

What about you? Do the people you rock with... Rock with you??? Can you trust them??? Do you trust them??? (Take time to note those are two very different questions.) Do they have your best interest at heart? Do they steer you in a direction positive for your life, health, wellbeing and future. If you esteem the friendship. Do they hold it in the same regard? If not why continue to subject yourself to such treachery? Ohhh you don't want to be alone??????
Take that and forget it.

Follow a path all your own and it will lead you to like- minds, like-hearts and hopefully less drama.

THINK... about your circle who you allow in it, who you tell your innermost thoughts, who you break bread with, who breaks bread with you? All answers are really visible.. If you look / watch/study/wait/ you'll see.

Don't forget to trust your senses too sometimes, outwardly "friends" play "all the right cards" but inwardly you know they are somehow "cheating." It happens!

All that to say the company you keep makes or breaks you... So be cautious who enters... Be cautious who exits.. And don't be afraid to make changes to it. Sadly all friendships don't last forever.. Some do but all don't. This life we've been given is not to surround yourself by people who: could do without you, could use you, could lie on you, could lie to you, set you up, tear you down or think anything less than the world of you.  If you stayed around them you in essesnce do to yourself what they do. So free yourself because peace is priceless.

Back to the video if it wasn't enough that they set him up... And left him All THE WAY  hanging.... They posted it online.... JEEZUZ... CHECK IT OUT 👇 & share this article if u dig it!

Divided Heart

My heart divided..
Stability and routine
Or
Chasing my dream
But
Am i willing to do anything?
I have my limits... that's why there's a ceiling for me.
Its why I'll never get offered the deal.
Cause he knows my limits
And he hates that i have them.
But someone stronger than him know my limits and applauds them.
Only thing is the world doesnt reward them...so no dream come true for me
Now He offers what will never cease... What a beauty He is... and me what a beast..
A divided heart ... impossible to please.

Nanas' Last Look

My feet were frozen in that spot, fused to the hideous green carpet in the stairwell of my mother’s apartment. As I watched the two paramedics struggle to wheel the large gurney through the narrow opening of my mother’s wooden trimmed apartment door, I went numb. Nanas' facial expression was one of complete exhaustion. Her body lay still, weak and frail and barely recognizable from the Grandmother I grew up loving. Yes, her hair was still in locks but now they had grayed. Yes, her skin still smelled of sweet lavender but it no longer had a bright shine. She had always been thin framed but now she was mostly skin and bones; outside of her distended stomach that gave her the appearance of being with child. The cancer had robbed her of the glow that was once synonymous with her. As I surveyed my best friend, I convinced myself if I didn’t tell her that I loved her that she couldn’t die. She locked eyes with me momentarily then as she rounded the stairwell she expended a flimsy but sincere smile. I just stared. I should have used the last moment that I would lay eyes her alive, to tell her just how much she meant to me and how much I did and still love her.

What Does Friendship Look Like?

Having a real friend means never being alone, unless by choice. It means having someone to tell your deepest darkest secrets to and knowing its safer than the secrets in Fort Knox.

It means never having to explain your inner emotions other than detailing, because the moment they see your face, hear your voice, or get in your presence they are so connected to you they know when your aura is off. They know you so well that, before you even respond to a happening they know what you will say, feel, think.
Friendship means support: emotional, mental, spiritually even. It means having someone to tell you truth even when you don't want to hear it but need to hear it. True friendship means loyalty, openness, love, honesty, dependability. It means open dialogue at any time of day, in any season, for any reason.

I've always valued my friendly relationships and tried to display these qualities. That value came from being a Navy brat. Moving around a lot never promoted stability in a friendship. In fact what I learned, is that all relationships are temporary, even good ones. It's the lesson I took away from it even if its not true.

I do know it's not true. I see people with friends from diapers, since they were 5 or 12 years old, long-term friendships. These relationships should be highly valued and those in them should consider yourselves
very fortunate and blessed. There are some who don't have that and have no idea what it feels like in a human to human factor.

For those who don't have that and feel empty or alone I want to say:
YOU DO HAVE THAT FRIEND.

God is really all the friend you need. He hits every mark even down to the open dialogue through His word the Bible. There's no better friend to have, truly. Not a stronger one. Not one more willing or capeable to help in times of distress. Don't overlook that.

That's my sermon for today.
Have a good weekend!
